Bituminous Adhesive, also called QwikDots, are peel and stick pressure sensitive polymer modified asphalt adhesive round pads used for adhering
delineator posts, rumble strips, parking bumpers, temporary sign posts, temporary markers or other items to both asphalt concrete and
portland cement concrete pavement surfaces. QwikDots are supplied in two sizes, either 6inch (15 cm) diameter with
60 per box, or 8 inch (20 cm) diameter with 40 per box.
INSTALLATION Prior to use, all persons involved with installation shall read the MSDS for QwikDots and follow the
listed safety requirements. Pavement surfaces must be clean and dry prior to installation. Surfaces should be blown clean with high
pressure clean, dry, oil free air at a minimum pressure of 90 psi (62 kpa) to remove all dust, dirt, or other surface contaminants. Minimum
pavement temperature for installation is 70F (21C), and minimum air temperature is 40F (4C). If pavement or air temperature is less than
70 F (21C), the pavement surface is to be warmed with a torch or heat lance. The QwikDot used should be slightly larger than the base of
the item being adhered. For long items, such as parking bumpers, a minimum of 2 QwikDots should be used, placed at a maximum
spacing of 12 inches (30 cm). To install, the QwikDot is placed onto the pavement surface with the adhesive side down. After the
QwikDot is applied, and with the release liner still on the top surface, apply pressure to the QwikDot to establish adhesion. The release
liner is then removed to expose the upper adhesive surface. If temperature is below 70F (21C), the top surface of the QwikDot is to be
lightly warmed with a heat lance or torch (approximately 2-5 seconds), and then the item being adhered is immediately placed by pressing
it firmly into the QwikDot. If temperature is above 70F (21C), warming is not required, but may be done for improved adhesion.
